A child life specialist works with you and your child when your child is in the hospital. They also help when your child is getting treatment for certain conditions.
A child life specialist can help you and your child in a variety of ways. This specialist can:
- Help your child feel more confident and comfortable in the hospital.
- Explain what to expect and how to prepare for surgery or other treatment.
- Reassure and provide support.
- Help you cope when your child is in the hospital.
- Help you understand your child's health condition.
